The Regent of Barito Kuala (Batola) Hj Noormiliyani AS started the stage nine distribution of basic food packages for 20,222 poor and affected by COVID-19 households across the district, Friday (Dec 11, 2020).


In addition, the Batola Care Foundation, which is fostered by the regent, also distributed the phase two cash assistance to 2,500 recipients channeled through bank transfer, each IDR200 thousand. 

Head of Bappelitbang Zulkifli Yadi Noor, Head of Social Agency Fuad Syekh, Head of Cooperative, Industry and Trade Agency Purkan, and Chief of Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Sumarno also participated in the distribution which took place at the courtyard of Serba Guna (Multipurpose) Building of the Marabahan Office Complex.

The regent symbolically handed over the food package to four sub-districts heads, namely Head of Anjir Pasar Sub-district A Husaini, Head of Kuripan Sub-district Hamdi, Head of Jejangkit Sub-district Mujiburrahman, and Acting Head of Mandastana Sub-district M Husaini.

Then, the assistance were sent using a fleet of four trucks to be delivered to chief of villages to be handed over to their respective villagers. 

Previously, Regent Hj Noormiliyani AS explained that for 2021 all type of social assistance for residents affected by COVID-19 still had no explanation from the central government, but Batola has prepared assistance. 

“We have prepared the social safety net from the Batola APBD (budget), but its implementation is still waiting for directives from the central government,” she said.
