Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The number of people with the disease in the Acute Respiratory Inspection or ISPA in Banjarbaru, increased due to the haze that blanketed almost every day in the last one month.


Chief Banjarbaru Health Agency Agus Widjaja said on Saturday, the number of patients reaching hundreds of people during September to mid-October 2014.

"The number of patients with respiratory infection increased significantly over the past one and a half months," he said, accompanied by Head of Controlling of Health Problems Noor Ifansyah.

The number of cases of pneumonia ARI in total since the first week until week 41 or January to mid-October as many as 614 cases. Case data came from eight community health centers (Puskesmas) most visited by communities.

He said he has distributed thousands of masks at health centers, schools and boarding schools that can be used to prevent inhalation of smog.
