South Kalimantan Provincial Police Chief Inspector General (Irjenpol) Nico Afinta was promoted to East Java Police Chief, only six months after serving in the Bumi Lambung Mangkurat (South Kalimantan) with a number of brilliant achievements.

The shift in the position of the South Kalimantan Police Chief was stated in the National Police Chief's telegram Number 3222 dated November 16, 2020, signed by the Assistant for Human Resources of the National Police Chief Insp.Gen. Sutrisno Yudi Hermawan on behalf of the National Police Chief General Idham Azis.

Insp.Gen. Nico replaces East Java Police Chief Insp.Gen. Mohammad Fadil Imran who is promoted to Metro Jaya Police Chief.

"The position of South Kalimantan Police Chief will then be held by Insp.Gen. Rikwanto, who is currently the North Maluku Police Chief," said Head of the Public Relation of the South Kalimantan Police Sr Comr Mochamad Rifa'i here, Monday.

Insp.Gen. Nico, who entered the South Kalimantan Police in May 2020 to replace Insp.Gen. Yazid Fanani had made achievements. The most phenomenal was the disclosure of 3 quintals of crystal meth (sabu-sabu) from Malaysia on August 6, 2020.

The thwart of narcotics smuggling in a fantastic amount even recorded the largest record outside Java Island. It won awards from the Governor of South Kalimantan and Speaker of the South Kalimantan DPRD.

In addition to law enforcement, Nico encouraged intensified prevention efforts so that people aware and concerned about their surrounding environment in the threat of drug trafficking and abuse.

Nico initiated the first educational webinar on the danger of drugs in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic on October 7, 2020, until he won the award from the Indonesia-World Achievement Institute (Leprid).

His successor, Insp.Gen. Rikwanto is known to have held more positions in the Police Public Relations Division. In fact, this 1988 Police Academy alumnus had been three years as Head of Public Relation at Metro Jaya Police from 2012 to 2015.
