Hundreds of midwives on duty at the village health post (poskesdes) in Tanah Bumbu District received operational vehicles to support health service in the villages till remote areas.


Regent H. Sudian Noor in Batulicin on Monday said 149 village midwives received official vehicles, in order health services in the district would be better.

"The distribution of official vehicles was accompanied by the submission of contract decrees for the task of assisting in the handling of coronavirus or COVID-19 in all community health centers (puskesmas) and hospitals," said the regent.

He hopes that the handover of the operational vehicles will make it easier for health workers to work, especially during the pandemic, so that health services for pregnant women in rural areas are not hampered by the pandemic.

According to him, the village midwives are the frontline of the health service. They of course face many obstacles. Through this program, the local government provide them operational vehicles to make it easier for them to work in the field.
