The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded inflation in all cities in South Kalimantan in October 2020 stood at 0.22 percent with a Consumer Price Index (IHK) of 105,21.

Head of South Kalimantan BPS M Edy Mahmud here on Tuesday said the inflation rate of Banjarmasin is 0.22 percent, Tanjung 0,27 percent, dan Kotabaru 0,22 percent.

"Inflation occurred due to price increase as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group," Mahmud stated in the official statistics news published on the South Kalimantan website. 

The food, beverage, and tobacco group increased by 0.45 percent, clothing, and footwear group by 0.41 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel 0.28 percent.

Equipment, tools, and routine household maintenance group 0.28 percent, personal care, and other services 0.15 percent, health group 0.07 percent.

"The rising price of chicken meat, household fuel, snakehead fish, cooking oil, and tilapia share the highest in inflation in South Kalimantan," he pointed out. 

According to him, based on the calendar year, South Kalimantan experienced 0.19 percent inflation in October, while year on year inflation rate 1.03 percent.
