South Kalimantan Police in collaboration with the Ministry of Health hold the first online-based drug education in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The event takes place on October 7, 2020, from 09.00 to 10.30 WITA (Central Indonesia Time) through Zoom and live broadcast on the Youtube channel and the official account of South Kalimantan Police' PR Instagram (Humas Polda Kalsel)," said South Kalimantan Police' Director of Narcotics Detective Sr Comr Iwan Eka Putra in Banjarmasin.
As the first provincial police (Polda) to hold online-based counseling and education on drug, whose participants are members of police and military (TNI-Polri), State Civil Apparatus (ASN), various organizations, and the general public, there will be an award from the Indonesia-World Achievements Institute (LEPRID).
In addition to present South Kalimantan Police Chief Insp.Gen.Nico Afinta as the main speaker, the webinar will feature the Director of Control and Prevention of Mental Health and Drug Problem of the Ministry of Health dr Siti Khalimah, and Olivia Zalianty, the artist who chairs Cross Cultural Generation and Anti-Drug Ambassador.
"The Webinar will be hosted by the popular presenter Choky Sitohang to definitely make the event more interesting," said Iwan.

The police chief will explain how drugs are trafficked in South Kalimantan, the challenge in eradicating it, including prevention efforts that go hand in hand.
Insp.Gen. Nico will also reveal more about the uncovering of the smuggling of 300 kilograms of crystal meth by South Kalimantan Police in the last August 2020.
Meanwhile, dr Siti Khalimah has a lot of material related to the psychological impact on drug users. While Olivia Zalianty to share her experiences in the artist's world, which is quite vulnerable to the temptation of using drugs.
Iwan invites the whole public to participate in the free webinar, which is fully supported by the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan and the 101/Antasari Provincial Military Command (Korem).
According to him, the materials to be presented are very important to increase the knowledge of the people, so they can better understand what drugs are, the effects, and the losses experienced.
"Everyone must be aware of and concern in drugs fighting.. This is the real enemy and must be fought together. What the public must aware is that prevention is better than falling into an abuser," he said.
