Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Banjarmasin Resort City Police Chief (Kapolresta) Kombes Suharyono asserted, adulterated liquor drunk must be captured to maintain security and order in the society.


"Adulterated liquor (known as oplosan) drinkers began to bloom in this city and this began to be alarming if you do not put in order, that's why we have to take them down," he said in Banjarmasin, Thursday.

Reports from Sabhara (rapid response) Unit, each time they did raid in "Pekat Operation" in this city, they always catch at least ten people. They were arrested while binge drinking in public places or on the street.

This, according to him, is troubling because it feared the influence of alcohol will occur crime. "It could have been because of drunk they extort people or interfere passers-by or people around their binge drinking," he said.

"What is worse, adulterated liquor with pure alcohol and a bit of a mix.` This is very danger.  How many victims have been heard in other areas, we do not expect the case here, "he said.

He stated, penalties for alcohol enforcement is still very light, only charged misdemeanor (tipiring). "So it's quite difficult to give a sense of a deterrent to not repeat again," he said.

Sabhara Chief Kompol MT Haryono stated, many oplosan drun sometimes were still teenagers. "Not a few that we nabbed students," he said.
