South Kalimantan Library and Archive Office (Dispersip) helped flower farmers in Jingah Habang Village by buying various processed flower products they produced.
"We buy large quantities of Jingah Habang Village farmers' products to help those who are struggling amid the COVID-19 pandemic," head of the office Nurliani noted in a press release, Friday.
Mother Nunung, a familiar nickname of Nurliani, invited the Dispersip employees to visit the flower garden in Jingah Habang, to know the condition of the local people, as well as their work to distill flowers.
"We come to directly see the flowers and to buy the various processed products, such as floral scent hand sanitizer, rose water facial fresheners and cosmetic mixes," she said.

The office then placed the hand sanitizers they bought at a number of rooms in the Banjarmasin Regional Library and the Banjarbaru Archives Depot.
"Every employee and visitor can use the hand sanitizer provided to clean hands. So we help farmers and on the other hand to carry out health protocol," she said.
The use of local products is one of the forms of the social inclusion-based program of the Library that prioritize community welfare and community empowerment through literacy.
"This means that libraries in the current era are not only providers of reading books and other literacy facilities, but also helping people who are struggling in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic," she said.
