A total of seven Al-Quran memorizers (Hafizs) compete to win the entry to the University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) through an independent passage that provides a special quota for hafiz.

"Alhamdulillah, this year seven Quran Hafizs have registered. Hopefully all of them pass, so more Al-Quran memorizer will be ULM students," said ULM Chancellor Prof. Dr. H. Sutarto Hadi in Banjarmasin, Wednesday.

The best state university in Kalimantan with A accreditation provides a special quota for the Quran Hafiz, apart from a reguler path. There is also disability passage provided for prospective students with special needs and this year there are seven applicants.

"ULM has become a disability-friendly campus. We have prepared supporting infrastructure, including volunteers to help them while attending lectures," said Sutarto.
