Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The number of passenger by air from Banjarmasin to various destinations falls by 20 percent compared to previous years. 


It can be seen up to D-5 of Eid no surge in the number of passengers, said Vice Governor of South Kalimantan, Rudy Resnawan on Thursday. 

After a visit to the Syamsudin Noor Airport, he said to reporters, based on information obtained during the visit, until now there has been no surge of passengers. 

"According to Angkasa Pura in the previous year, from D-5 Lebaran (Eid) number of passengers has reached 7 thousand per day, but that number is now down 20 percent," he said. 

So he said, additional flights is raised by almost all airlines in different directions, until now has not been used, because the 

passenger was transported by the available flights. 

Vice Governor said, permits of the additional flight hours for all aircraft to various destinations such as Surabaya, Balikpapan, Yogyakarta, Semarang and several other destinations have been given, but there is none of the airlines that add flight hours. 

It is estimated that a surge will only occur in the D-4 to D-2 of Eid, because they are last day off work of civil servants and many private companies to dismiss employees, so a lot of people will bring their families backhome (mudik).
