Banyu Hirang Village, Amuntai Selatan Sub-district, North Hulu Sungai (HSU), won the second best Kampung Tangguh Banua (resilient village) in South Kalimantan.

The award was handed over by the Provincial Police Chief Insp.Gen. Police Dr Nico Afinta to the Banyu Hirang Village Chief Iliyani and witnessed by the Governor and Deputy Governor of South Kalimantan after the commemoration of the 75th Independence Day at the courtyard of the Governor's office in Banjarbaru, Monday (August 17, 2020).

Banyu Hirang Village's Kampung Tangguh Banua won the second-best for it success to be the first champion in the field of health and the first winner in the field of information.

"Amazing, all of our efforts have proven we have so far can overcome the problems related to the prevention and handling of COVID-19 pandemic," said Iliansyah in Banjarbaru.

He said the village has been supported by the HSU district government and various parties to succeed in developing resilience in the field of health, security, food, information, creativity and culture.

This success, Iliansyah continued, cannot be separated from the role of three pillars, namely the local government, the police, and TNI (military) from district to sub-district.

"On behalf of the people of Banyu Hirang Village I would like to thank the regent, police chief, and the 1001 Amuntai military commander and their ranks who have synergized to support our efforts and determination to realize kampung tangguh banua," he pointed out.

Amuntai Selatan Police Chief First Insp (Iptu) Misransyah told, the establishment of kampung tanggung in HSU thanked to the togetherness in building the community in the village to be independently breaking the chain of the spread of COVID 19 outbreak.
 
"Actually the resilience has been established in the Banyu Hirang Village in preventing and dealing with COVID 19  pandemic, thus all villages can actually become resilient villages if they maximize their potential of resilience," he said.
