Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - PT Sebuku Iron Lateritic Ores (SILO) in the Kotabaru District together with Nuasa Sahabat Pulau (Nuance of Island Companion) and Inter-State Youth Exchange Alumni Representative South Kalimantan (better known as PCMI) scheduled to plant mangrove seedlings with 36 students of SMP 1 Tanjung Mangkok. 

The activity aims to encourage young people who are involved in could be environmentalist pioneers. 

Activities take place during the first two days with edu-games agenda and lightweight discussion to explore the potential participants and the planting of understanding of the importance of environmental conservation. 

PT SILO Management represented by I Made Suparta said, the mining activities on the island of Sebuku not solely related to the mine, but also the community development and environmental awareness. 

Activity continued with "mining tour" to the area around the mine, so it can provide a lot of new knowledge for the children not only limited to how the processing of iron ore but also the sustainability of the area that has been eroded by mining activities. 

According to him, mined areas will be reclaimed in an attempt to environmental conservation. Activity continued to Sambar deer breeding, trees and orchids planting. 

The second day of activities covered by the core activity is the planting of mangrove seedlings by all participants and organizers. Approximately 250 mangrove planted on the conservation area of nearly 1,500 hectares on the island of Sebuku.
