Regent of Kotabaru H Sayed Jafar said the establishment of resilient or tough villages (kampung tangguh) on the awareness of residents ought to be thankful for.

According to Kotabaru Police Chief AKBP Andi Adnan Syafruddin, the district gears up to build other 10 kampung tangguh after previously building eight.

But the regent said, the establishment of kampung tangguh, including the latest in Rantau Jaya, should not be ceremonial. It must be real and maximal. If the program runs well and successful, the community themselves will feel the benefit.

Regent H Sayed Jafar together with Forkopimda (the Regional Leadership Communication Forum) visited kampung tangguh in four sub-districts, namely Sungai Durian, Hampang, Kelumpang Hulu, and Kelumpang Hilir,  Monday.

The regent handed over assistance of personal protective equipment (PPE), corn seeds, and tilapia fish seedlings to the villages. He also put vest on members of the COVID-19 task force of every villages he visited.

He said, the establishment of kampung tangguh is an effort to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission by involving the community, especially in the implementation of health protocol.

"I ask residents to always apply health protocoal and to the village government I instruct them to continue to provide understanding to the community to implement health protocol in their daily activities," Sayed pointed out.

Police Chief AKBP Andi Adnan Syafruddin in his remarks appreciated the establishment of kampung tangguh in Kotabaru, including Rantau Jaya Village.

Kotabaru has launched eight kampung tangguh, namely in the sub-districts of Pulau Laut Utara, Pulau Laut Sigam, Kelumpang Hilir, Kelumpang Hulu, Kelumpang Utara, Hampang, Sampanahan including in Sungai Durian.

He said, Kotabaru regent together with head of sub-districts and village government will establish 10 more kampung tangguh banua.

The police chief said, kampung tangguh was initiated by three pillars, namely TNI (military), Polri (police) and government with aim to maintain the health and safety of community from the highly contagious disease COVID-19.

According to him, there four main focus of the resilient village, namely health resilient, socioeconomic resilient, security resilient, and creativity resilient.
