Banjarmasin , South Kalimantan (antaranews) - Banjarmasin Health Agency is trying to prevent the entry of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus that originated from Saudi Arabia.
"Although MERS case has not yet found in Banjarmasin, we still perform preventive efforts till there is no that scary virus in this city," said Head of Banjarmasin Health Agency Hj Diah R Praswati to reporters here on Wednesday.
She said the virus is spread from animals to humans, and there is no finding cases of human-to-human spread.
Even so, the spread of the virus through saliva allows. Flu-like symptoms of the disease, such as symptoms of cough, body heat, and shortness of breath.
Frightening than the disease, there is no vaccine against it, thus it potentially causing the death of 30 percent.
But, she said , the virus can heal itself, as long as people running the healthy behavior, intensive care, adequate rest, and given vitamin intake.
"To South Kalimantan, management for disease available at the General Hospital (RSUD) Ulin Banjarmasin," she said.
