Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - South Kalimantan Governor Rudy Ariffin said Banjarbaru City increasingly rapid developed since it fully gain the status of a city in 20 April 1999 or 15 years ago.

"The rapid development of Banjarbaru City can be seen from further growth and development of almost the entire region so that economic progress and welfare of the people," he said on Saturday night at Murjani Banjarbaru Field.

One of the central development is increasingly manifested in the provincial office. Construction of South Kalimantan provincial government office center that became a vision and mission during his tenure as head of the region continue to be encouraged through development programs carefully prepared.

"It used to be before it was built many people were dubious, but now construction is more visible and has reached 50 percent," said the two terms governor who expected the construction to be realized by 60 percent by the end of his term about one and a half years ahead.

"We hope that the progress of the construction phase of the central offices reached 60 percent at the end of our tenure and to be continued by another elected governor in the coming period," he said.

The rapid development of Banjarbaru City will also look from development of Syamsudin Noor Airport which is located in the Village of SyamsudinNoor, Subdistrict Landasan Ulin. "Laying the first stone of Syamsudin Noor Airport development is scheduled for May 2014 so that the start of construction will further increase the rapid of Banjarbaru City," he said.
