Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Banjarbaru Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Agency (Distankanhut) prepares a program to prevent inflation in agriculture through agricultural commodities preparedness in community.

"The program ready to run is the allotment of chilli seeds and onion seeds to society, because the two commodities trigger the inflation," said Rustam M, Head of  Banjarbaru Distankanhut on Tuesday.

He said, chilies and shallots are the trigger of inflation in Banjarbaru and the need for two seasoning ingredients are high enough, so that their availability should be maintained.

Giving chili and onion seedlings will be handed over to community groups through the chiefs of neighborhood units (RT) and village chairman, so that the distribution can be evenly distributed and can be enjoyed by society.

"The provision of chilli seeds and onions to the public is only for their own consumption, not for sale, so if the price of chili and onions are high, people do not have trouble to look for them," he said.

While the onion, in addition to the provision of seedlings will be ready to be opened for 10 hectares of land planted with onions, so that crops can meet the needs of the local community.
