In an effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the Barito Kuala's Task Force for Accelerating the Handling of COVID-19 (GTPP) have tightened supervision on the border by conducting supervision on the South-Central Kalimantan border crosser since Thursday (March 26, 2020).
The team, which consisted of the Batola Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), TNI (military), Polri (police), health officers, and others, guarding the border post between the Sub-district of Anjir Pasar Km 14 (South Kalimantan) and Kapuas District (Central Kalimantan).
They intercepted vehicles passing from the direction of Kapuas, both motorcycles and cars.
Every driver and passenger were checked for body temperature using forehead thermometer.
The action was also attended by Deputy Regent of Barito Kuala (Batola) H Rahmadian Noor, who was accompanied by Head of Public Relation Hery Sasmita. He even took part in carrying out checks on residents who passed by.
“In addition to reducing the spread of COVID-19, we are taking this action to ensure that no residents from the exposed areas to enter South Kalimantan, especially Batola,” he said.
To the residents of Batola, he advised to always take care of health, maintain cleanliness, not to gathering or making crowds, and always wash hands with soap.
Coordinator of the team Rusmadi said related agencies, such as Transportation Agency, Satpol-PP, BPBD, TNI, Polri, Health Agency, and parties backed up will carry out the border supervision by shift system for 24 hours.
“Technically every time a citizen passes, we will check the body temperature. If it passes from above 38 degrees, we would recommend taking to the nearest hospital or public health center,” he said.
