The Banjarbaru City Task Force for COVID-19 Handling Acceleration moved quickly when they checked hundreds of students coming from East Java to South Kalimantan.
Led directly by the chief of the task force, Said Abdullah Alkaf, the team checked hundreds of students after they landed at the Syamsudin Noor Banjarmasin International Airport, Wednesday (March 25, 2020).
"We are monitoring and checking to prevent the transmission of the virus because they come from the affected areas," said Said Abdullah, who is also the Regional Secretary of Banjarbaru City.
According to him, the number of students coming home from Islamic boarding schools in East Java was 180. The team checked their body temperature.
They came in two groups. They were then examined after they arrived at the arrival terminal. All of them have no high body temperature.
"All are safe. Their body temperature are normal, but all of them are in the category of people under monitoring (ODP), including nine students from Banjarbaru," he said.
Said, who is also Head of the Banjarbaru Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), stated that the city government ready to provide service and protection for residents, but residents should help with prayer and to apply individual healthy living.
"Our message to all levels of society get closer to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and always maintain a clean and healthy lifestyle to avoid all types of disease, including coronavirus," he said.
