South Kalimantan inflation rate in January 2020 stood at 0,31 percent with the driving commodities snakehead fish (locally popular as Haruan), vegetable oil, clove cigarette, cars, and red chili. 


Head of the South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Diah Utami in Banjarbaru, Monday (Feb 3, 2020) said, the January 2020 calendar inflation rate from December 2019 was 0,31 percent and year-on-year (YoY) rate 3.07 percent.

"The inflation was due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in some indexes of expenditure group," she said at a monthly press conference at her office in Banjarbaru.

The expenditure group experienced a hike were food, beverages, and tobacco by 1.36 percent, while the household appliances equipment group by 0.22 percent.

The group of health 0.78 percent, education 0.06 percent, food, and beverages supplier for restaurant 0.16 percent, and personal care group 0.60 percent.

Meanwhile, groups of commodities experienced a decline in price were clothing and footwear by 0,11 percent, transportation 1,49 percent, recreation, sport, and culture 0.13 percent.

The comparison of inter-city inflation in Kalimantan was Banjarmasin with 0,25 percent stood as the lowest, while the highest inflation occurred in Sintang, West Kalimantan, at 1,10 percent.
