Police Regulate Airsoft Gun Ownership

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - South Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda) begin to curb "airsoft gun" held by the public to check the permissions as number of abuses have been reported.

Polda Public Relations Head AKBP Sunyipno here on Tuesday, said there were many abuses currently, and some are considered dangerous, so it is necessary to be regulated.

The police when contro will ask the permission of airsoft gun ownership. If it has a permit, although from outside South Kalimantan, then it's okay to be owned.

"The important thing airsoft gun owners have permission from the Association of Indonesian Shooter (Perbakin) and the Police so it safely held," he explained.

For people who have airsoft guns, asked to report to the Police for ownership permit in order to be checked in accordance with regulations.

For those who do not have permission, please report they will not be arrested. Police will provide a solution to take care of the permit, he said.

"It's an order from South Kalimantan Regional Police chief, in order to anticipate against the rampant shootings houtside South Kalimantan," he said.
