South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor urged his entire ranks to work hard to fulfill the clean water need of the people until the remote areas in a sustainable way, especially through the Regional Water Treatment System of Banjarbakula (SPAM Banjarbakula).

The governor made his remark at the signing ceremony of asset conversion through provincial government's equity in PDAM Intan Banjar for the development of SPAM Banjarbakula stage 2.

He said, based on BPS report the average national access to drinking water in 2018 in urban areas was 81,55 percent and 65 percent in rural areas.

But he was concerned that the access in his province is below the national level. It was only 50.46 percent for household who have access to adequate drinking water in 2018.

""To reduce regional disparity one of which is by developing the Banjarbakula regional drinking water supply system," he said hoping that the water need for domestic will be in parallel with the increase of the number of population in the region.
