The University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) and the University of Cambridge, England, increased their collaboration in the field of Human Resources Development, especially to improve the English proficiency of ULM students.
"We have done the preliminary test to determine the English proficiency of new students. Then they will receive training with materials developed by Cambridge University Press for two semesters," ULM Rector Prof Dr H Sutarto Hadi noted in his press-release received by Antaranews.
Sutarto was in England to attend directly the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Cambridge, who representated by Global Marketing Manager Robert Bexon. Cambridge is the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world. It was founded in 1209.

He said, at the end of the training program, the students are expected to already have English skill to enter the world of work or to proceed to the next level of education.
"The students who take part in the program will receive international certificate issued by Cambridge Assessment," he pointed out.

The rector assessed this cooperation with the best university in the world is very strategic as an effort to prepare the superior and competitive human resources from graduates of ULM, which has been accredited A by the BAN-PT ( the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education).
"This is one of efforts to accelerate ULM internationalization. I want ULM graduates to not only be good at the local and national level, but to compete in the regional and global level," he said.

ULM which keeps moving forward, Sutarto added, is also demanded that within fve years of the validity of A Accreditation must have at leat six international accreditation study program.
"With the international accreditation study program, ULM can keep increasing students and foreign lecturers. At this time ULM is already on the right track, so we continue to race for this progress achievement," he concluded.

Previously, ULM) in cooperation with Briton English Education held "Cambridge English Placement Test" for its new students of the academic of 2019-2020 to realize a quality graduates who will be able to compete globally. About 2,000 students participated in the test.
