Tapin swimmers brough home 11 medals from the South Kalimantan swimming championship (Kejurprov) held on October 4-6 in Amuntai, North Hulu Sungai (HSU).

Tapin athletes from Indonesian Swimming Association (PRSI) brach of Tapin won six golds, two silvers, and three bronzes in the championship held at the Tirta Agung Swimming Pool, Amuntai.

The gold medal won by Anugerah in men's 400-m freestyle of age group 1 (KU-1), M Tauhidi Fatahilah in men's 200-m freestyle of age group 2 (KU-2) and in men's 50-m backstroke and men's 50-m freestyle and in 200-m individual medley. 

M Tauhidi Fatahilah also won silver in men's 100-m backstroke and in men's 50-m breaststroke.

While bronze medals won by Bayu Rizki Wardhana in men's 50-m backstroke and in men's 50-m freestyle for age group 1, while Anugerah won in men's 200-m freestyle.

Chief of PRSI Tapin H Sapuani through the Tapin Contingen Manager Rini Yusnita said, the swimming athletes participation in the provincial championship as a database to go to the 2021 Provincial Game (Porprov) in South Hulu Sungai (HSS).

"If not participating in Kejurprov for twice, district of city athlete will not allow to take part in Porprov," he pointed out.

But the participation, he added, was also as a warming up and to see first hand the capability of other athletes who took part in the champhionship.

Rini expected the athlete not to satisfied with the result in the championship, but to keep making achievements, of couse by increasing the quality of the swimmers.
