An area of 15 hectares of Hiyung chili farmland in Hiyung Village, Tapin Tengah Sub-district, Tapin, burnt down. 

The fire accident that happened to the hottest chili farmland at about 01.00 pm have caused the farmers to suffer loss billions of rupiah.

"The loss per hectare is Rp120 million or the total is about Rp1,8 billiard for 15 hectares," said Hiyung Village Secretary Junaidi when confirmed via telephone, Friday (13/9).  

Hiyung chili varieties have spiciness rates of up to 94,500 ppm or equivalent to 17 times that of ordinary chili. 

When he was confirmed, Junaidi said, the fire began to have been put out about 80 percent. But his party together with land and forest fire taskforce and volunteers kept on alert.

"We keep on guard to anticipate another hotspot," he said.

But the team in field found a difficulty, the far location of hotspot could not be reached by two wheel vehicle, but only by boat. 

Meanwhile, the Center of Disaster Mitigation and Operations (Pusdalops-PB) of the Tapin BPBD (Disaster Mitigation Agency) reported, until 10.00 pm 27 hotspots have been detected.

The hotspots spred two in Tapin Selatan subdistrict, three in Tapin Tengah, 8 in Candi Laras Selatan, and 12 in Candi Laras Utara.
