Hiyung Chili, claimed to be the hottest chili in Indonesia, now processed into a new sensation of candy. This is a new product development after the chili served in the form of chili sauce and shredded.

The originator of the Hiyung chili candy, Dila (21), a student of the Faculty of Agriculture of Lambung Mangkurat University Banjarbaru, said the idea arose when she conducting a community service project (KKN) in Hiyung Village, Tapin.

"Of course not everyone likes spicy, but Hiyung chili makes us curious about its spiciness. Here then I want to make an innovation for people who do not like spicy but can feel the sensation of chili Hiyung," she pointed out.

She acknowledged, although the sensation of spicy chili Hiyung was reduced when processed into candy, but the spicy taste was still felt and could be enjoyed.

"Yes, of course the spiciness is reduced, because in the processing of chopped mermaid chili mixed with sugar," he said again.

Dila said, Hiyung chili candy was introduced at the 2019 Tapin Art Festival, and a variety of community responses which would certainly be a separate motivation for him and Hiyung chili farmers community.

"Of course there are still many things that we have to fix from these candy preparations, such as the texture and packaging," she said.

Head of the Hiyung Chili Peppers Farmer Group Junaidi hopes the Hiyung chilli candy innovation can be accepted by the wider community.

"Of course with the many innovations of processed Hiyung chili this can improve the economy of the Hiyung community," she said.
