Swimming sport in South Kalimantan seemed to spring up as a provincial competition held in Amuntai, the capital of North Hulu Sungai (HSU) District.

Head of Indonesian Swimming Association (PRSI) of South Kalimantan Branch Adi Subroto here on Saturday said after a long time of no activities the championship held again for the first time in Amuntai, HSU.

"Thank you all colleagues of provincial committee for performing of provincial championship for swimming sport after a long time of rest," he pointed out.

12 districts and cities took part in the competition which was held at the swimming pools of the Tirta Agung Suryana Sport Center (GOR) during October 4-6, 2019.

Adi said, the holding of championship was funded by the National Sports Committee (KONI) branch of HSU supported by the local government, while Regent of HSU again showed his commitment to bring forward sport.

PRSI OF South Kalimantan, he continued, required all districts and cities to join the championship as one of the conditions to take part in the 2020 Provincial Sport Week (PORProv) in Kandangan.
