The Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan, was awarded the 2019 Wahana Tata Nugraha (WTN) with a note by the Ministry of Transportation at the height of the Transportation Day celebration in Indo Trans Expo, Jakarta, Sunday (15/9).
The national level honor is awarded in every two years to transportation people of local government from all over Indonesia with three category: WTN with a note, WTN without note, and WTN Wiratama.
Regent Tanah Laut H Sukamta, who received the award, said this is the first time his district joined the assessment and winning WTN with a note.
"In the future we will improve to achieve WTN without a note, while the note from the assessment team will be our material to evaluate and reference to design a better public transportation in the District of Tanah Laut,” Sukamta remarked.

He said to continue collaboration with Transportation Agency and Tanah Laut Police to make a better public transportation system and to win a better award in the future.
Meanwhile, Minister Budi Karya Sumadi gave a message in his remark that local goverment across Indonesia to be more passionate in managing transportation and collaborating with operators.
