A hajj pilgrim from the District of Tapin, South Kalimantan, has passed away on the plane, which took him from Saudi Arabia to homeland.
"When transiting at Kualanamu Airport in Medan, H Kayuh Rasidi Ahmad (81) was known to have died, so his body was sent down there," said Head of South Kalimantan Office of Religious Affairs Ministry H Noor Fahmi here on Thursday.
He added now the number of hajj pilgrim and hajj candidates from the Banjarmasin Embarkation died has reach eight.
Last Tuesday he said seven hajj pilgrim have been recorded passed away. Four of them from South Kalimantan and three others from central Kalimantan.
But a health officer for Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Regency, Hendra reported, a hajj pilgrim by the name Hasratinor Binti Salman, age 44 years, a resident of Lok Besar Village, Batang Alai Selatan (BAS) Sub-district, died on Thurday (22/8) at 23.45 Saudi time before returned home.
"She passed away at the An Noor Hospital Saudi Arab due to shortness of breath," he told.
About the late Kayuh Rasidi Ahmad, Noor Fahmi confirmed, one hajj attendant from the Banjarmasin Embarkation, who stayed in Medan to accompany if any hajj pilgrim sick, will help in handling the return home of the body to Banjarmasin.
"Because, one other hajj pilgrim from 02 flight group has also been sent down for the reason of illness and has to be treated at the local hospital," he added.
The hajj pilgrims of 02 flight group have been the first to arrive home last Monday (20/8). They consisted of 325 people, including accompanying officers.
Up till yesterday, 646 hajj pilgrims from two flight group have arrived home. This year the Banjarmasin Embarkation departed 6.112 pilgrims who divided into 19 flight groups.Sukarli//foto: jamaah haji meninggal//
