UEA-based Mubadala Petroleum, with its Ruby gas field at Sebuku Block in Makassar Strait, has been producing in almost six years since October 2013 with no accident.
"Alhamdulillah (Thank God) we have zero accidents, activities run smoothly, and the gas flow on targets," Agung Djatmiko, Ruby Offshore Platform Installation Manager, remarked when he was met at the offshore platform on sunday.
He affirmed, all activities at the Ruby field must comply with procedures so as to prevent and reduce the potentials of accidents. While security process is implmented with tight control.
"Every employee has the right and obligation to remind his fellow workers if he sees anything dangerous. For example a worker on duty doesn't wear gloves, he must rebuke and stop him," Agung explained.
Ruby management must always be ready for a quick respond in handling any emergency situation, such as fire of gas leakage, including if any worker fall into accident.
A fleet of ships always standby around the Ruby, and also a helicopter if needed will come quickly, either from the International Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan or from Gusti Syamsir Alam Kotabaru Airport.
Workers at Ruby are fully Indonesian citizens, with a normal number of 25 people and a maximum of 36 people. The workers can share shifts every two weeks. So two weeks of work and two weeks of vacation.
Agung said he was proud, some of the workers are local of the Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, and Majene Regency, West Sulawesi. The Ruby gas field is located between the islands of Kalimantan and Sulawesi, 275 kilometers southeast of Balikpapan and 90 kilometers east of Kotabaru.
