Indonesia’s Moringa tea was dubbed one of Germany's favorite drinks, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Germany, Arif Havas Oegroseno, said in a teleconference interview here Friday.
Indonesia exported hundreds of tons of Moringa tea to the European Union countries every year, Oegroseno stated and added that 34 percent of the total imports were distributed to Germany.
However, in terms of Moringa exports to Europe, India was still dubbed as the top supplier in the Asian region.
Therefore, to compete with India, Oegroseno called on Indonesia's food and drink exporters to expand their businesses in Germany.
"The embassy will facilitate the meeting between Indonesia's exporters and distributors in Germany," he noted.
On the occasion, the ambassador also invited Indonesian food and drink companies to join the Anuga International Trade Fair in Cologne, Germany, on October 5 to 9, 2019.
"We have a large potential to market our finest tea and coffee in Germany as well as markets in the European Union countries where the products are already popular," he noted.
The international food and beverage trade fair will be attended by 7,400 participants from 100 countries, while Indonesia will assign 27 companies from the country to join the event, Oegroseno mentioned.
