Land fire in Tapin District. (special)
Land fires happened again in Tapin District. A total of three hotspots were reported on Wednesday (7/31).
The three fire points occured in the North Tapin area and two points in Central Tapin.
Tapin Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Bagus Suseno, through the North Tapin Police Chief First Insp (Iptu) Kurdish Salahudin, said the hotspots in his jurisdiction were in the village of Banua Halat Kanan.
"The burned land covers an area of about 10 hectares, and our members and joint teams are already at the location of the hotspot," he said.
But the team faced obstacles in the field, road conditions were difficult to reach hotspot, while water availability was lacking.
"The location of the fire is quite far, the lack of water availability plus the condition of strong winds makes the fire rapidly expand," said the police chief.
Meanwhile, the two other hotspots were in Central Tapin Sub-district were in Papagan Makmur Village and Sungai Bahalang Village.
"We immediately instructed the joint team to go to the hotspot location to immediately carry out puttingout," said Head of the Tapin Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) H Nordin.
"The total area burned in the Central Tapin area is 4 hectares," added the Central Tapin Police Chief Iptu Ade Dadang.
