South Kalimantan rowing athletes competing in the Dragon Boat 22 Open Crew branch in the 2019 Navy Chief of Staff (Kasal) Water Sport Open Tournament at Pantai Mutiara Pluit, North Jakarta, won first place on Friday (7/26).


South Kalimantan rowing athletes, a combination of 10 paddlers from Barito Kuala (Batola) and 10 Banjarmasin rowers, recorded a time of 1 minute 51.64 seconds.

The South Kalimantan paddlers carrying the name of the Banjarmasin Naval Base rowing team outperformed the Marine B team who won second place with a time of 1 minute 52 08 seconds, 3rd place winner A Marine 1 minute 54.82 seconds, and 4th West Java 1 minute 56.72 seconds.

This event was also a trial for South Kalimantan paddlers in facing the 2020 PON qualifying round, where the dragon boat is one of the mainstay numbers of South Kalimantan.

The 2019 Navy Chief of Staff (Kasal) Open Water Sport Tour was exciting.

Besides the Dragon Boat 22 Open Crew, other branch was also held in competition namely NOWST Dragon Boat 22 Man Military Crew 500 meters, DB 12 Man Open, DB 12 Women Open Crew.

Trophies and medals handover was carried out by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan witnessed by Pangkolinlamil. Also attended the Chairperson of PODSI Batola who was Deputy Chair III of KONI Batola Akhmad Wahyuni and Deputy Chair II Batola Dahlan, as well as other PODSI Batola management.
