Chairperson of the Commission IV for People's Welfare South Kalimantan DPRD Yazidie Fauzi SKom welcomes the Ministry of Health's plan to build four modern community health center (puskesmas modern).
According to the former Chairman of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI), the planned construction of a modern health center is one proof of the commitment of the central government to improve public health services.
"Naturally, we welcome positively and happily, because in the future we hope the current health status of South Kalimantan people, which amounts to four million spread to 13 regencies and cities, keep improving," he said in Banjarmasin on Monday after a meeting with the Ministry of Health last week.
"Moreover, health development is part of the determinants of the Human Development Index (HDI). South Kalimantan's HDI has not experienced a significant increase, which is still in the 20's of 35 provinces in Indonesia," he continued.
When meeting with the South Kalimantan people's representatives in Jakarta, July 26, the Director of the Health Services Facility of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Andi Saguni, said that government would build a modern health center in South Kalimantan in 2020.
"As planned by the Ministry of Health in 2020, South Kalimantan gets four modern health centers, namely two in the North Hulu Sungai (HSU) and two in Barito Kuala (Batola)," Yazidie said quoting the Ministry of Health's Directorate of Health Service Facilities.

Modern community health centers is a puskesmas whose function and feasibility standard is regulated in the Minister of Health Regulation No. 75/2014, such as having system of sanitation, electricity, medical gas, lightning protection, fire protection, noise control systems. While health workers are at least primary care doctors, dentists, nurses, midwives, community health workers, environmental health workers, medical laboratory technology experts, nutrition workers and pharmaceutical personnel.
