Drug abuse has penetrated many circles and professional backgrounds, both young and old can be entangled by the virus. Even children age students became victims.


Widely circulated information in the city of Banjarmasin, that methamphetamine type narcotics are available in thrifty packages that target students. Parents have to be vigilant and further increase supervision of their children.

Based on the Antara's search, sabu-sabu-saving packages sold for Rp. 50,000 can be used up in just a few sucks.

"The users term is only buy sucks. Usually they use it directly in the distribution house, just a few sucks. Most of them junior and senior high school students," said one resident on Jalan 9 October, South Banjarmasin, to Antara, while asking for his name to be disguised, on Tuesday.

Sabu-sabu is indeed the most dominant narcotics used by abusers in the city of Banjarmasin and South Kalimantan in general. Evident from a number of police findings, the most frequent revealed case was sabu-sabu (meth).

A dealer who was arrested by the South Kalimantan Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate some time ago revealed that a small package of methamphetamine weighing less than 0.5 grams sold for Rp. 300 thousand.

In fact, the selling price of hundreds of thousands can not be reached by the students who are already addicted to consume meth. As a result, a savings package of Rp 50 thousand is sold well, especially for those who do not have more money to buy a package of meth at a standard price.

Narcotics Investigation Director Sr. Comr Wisnu Widarto admitted that anti-drug counseling was indeed being intensively carried out by targeting the students.

"These people whose emotions are still unstable and prone to falling into negative relationships like trying drugs," said Wisnu.

In addition to prevention efforts through counseling and so on, Wisnu ensured law enforcement to arrest dealers and cut off the network.

"Of course, we keep tracking the public information about the alleged drug trafficking targets this student. We continue to explore it. Efforts to make students the target of drug trafficking should be watched out together and all parties can help the police to reveal it," said Wisnu.
