Forest Management Unit (KPH) of Balangan Regency, through the Forest Management Resort (RPH) of Tebing Tinggi Sub-district, and the Barito Watershed and Forest Protection Management Center (BPDASHL) team monitored the plants in Marajai Village, Halong Sub-district.

Marajai, known as a forest area that has a collection of rare fruits in Halong Sub-district, but the management area is included in the Tebing Tinggi RPH area.

The head of the Tebing Tinggi RPH Arsin Mustawan, who was involved in monitoring activities, said his party had planted jengkol, cempedak, candlenut, durian and petai trees on an area of approximately 150 hectares here.

"However, some candlenut and durian plants have died, especially in areas that are still closed," he said.

Responding to a complaint there were dead plants, the Barito BPDAS-HL  team rushed to the village hall to carry out counseling and direction to the residents.

"To reduce the risk, dead plants can be re-embroidered with different types of plants," said Tono, one of the Barito BPDAS-HL officers.

Monitoring also involved representatives from CV Bena Sylva Lestari, the contractor implementing the activity.
