Balangan District, South Kalimantan, won the Pastika Parama award from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia for issueing regional regulation on and applying no-smoking zone (KTR).


Regent Balangan H Ansharuddin receives the Pastika Parama award from Minister of Health Prof Dr dr Nila Djuwita F Moeloek, SpM (K) in the series of commemoration of World Tobacco Day 2019, Thursday (11/07) at Prof. Dr. Sujudi's Building, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta.

Regent Banjar H Khalilurrahman also received the same award from Minister of Health Prof Dr dr Nila Djuwita F Moeloek, SpM (K) in the same event.

The minister said, the Ministry of Health continued to press the number of active smokers. "The program that is being intensively carried out now is the dissemination and application of KTR in a number of regions in Indonesia," she said.

She congratulated and appreciated the regional heads for their sincerity in the application of the no smoking area.

"I also appeal to the entire community to always maintaining health by eating nutritious foods, regular exercise, and checking health regularly, as well as avoiding things that damage health," she added.

The event was attended by representative of WHO, the regional heads who received the awards, the Head of Balangan Health Agency Erwan, and the ranks of health office across Indonesia. The warning theme this time is "Don't Let Cigarettes Take Your Breath".
