Prof. H. Ahmad Suriansyah won the trust of the Chancellor of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Prof. Dr. H Sutarto Hadi to lead postgraduate students.
The strategic position became a new challenge for the man who was familiarly called Prof. Sur to prove himself if he was worthy to coordinate all the Masters and S3 programs at ULM.
As Director, Prof. Sur wants to make the ULM Postgraduate with international standard in line with the A Accreditation status that has been carried out by the largest and oldest state university in Kalimantan.
"ULM has already gained A accreditation, it is now the duty of all academics to prove themselves that the assessment given by the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT) is appropriate," Prof Sur told reporters after being inaugurated at the ULM Rectorate Hall in Banjarmasin on Thursday.
"We hope that along with the progress of the S2 (master degree), and S3 (doctor degree) lectures at ULM, then S1 (bachelor) graduates in this area do not need to go far to further study in Java. However, ULM is sufficient, graduates are recognized to be from the leading and world-class competitive universities," he said.
