The discourse of moving the state capital of the Republic of Indonesia later strengthened when there was certainty of position on the island of Kalimantan with alternatives to South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan.

Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) academician Dr. Budi Suryadi, who is a lecturer in the Government Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) here Saturday said the transfer of the capital was not just a matter of Jakarta's inconvenience due to the city's development, but more importantly building Indonesian politics for the future.

"I personally agree that the capital will be moved from Jakarta and must be outside Java for the balance of development in the future. The choice of Kalimantan Island is also very appropriate, because of its position in the middle of Indonesia," he said.

Especially in South Kalimantan, Budi saw more advantages than the other two regions in Kalimantan which were also touted as strong candidates.

According to him, there are several important points owned by South Kalimantan. First, the aspect of land availability, South Kalimantan has large land that is not covered with resident land.

Then the aspect of soil fertility, South Kalimantan still has a lot of fertile land and can be planted with any type of plant. Furthermore, in the highland aspect, South Kalimantan has many highland areas.

The fourth aspect is access to the ocean, so South Kalimantan has a wide open sea. Fifth aspect of population, South Kalimantan has a small population.

Next aspect of ethnic diversity, South Kalimantan has diverse tribes that exist throughout Indonesia as well as high tolerance aspects for the presence of other tribes.

"The Banjar tribe community is very open to the presence of outsiders. All can live side by side in harmony and peace. This has been proven, South Kalimantan is one of the most conducive regions in Indonesia," said the Chairman of the ULM's ASEAN Study Center.

Even though the 2014 ULM achievement lecturers ensured that from the border side with other countries South Kalimantan fulfilled the requirements. That is, for security factors from the threat of attacks from outside countries is somewhat safer.

"In plain view, Tanah Bumbu Regency and Kotabaru Regency in South Kalimantan are best located in the middle of Indonesia from all directions. The advantages are also the port for economic access," Budi ended.
