The peak flow of passengers for homecoming (mudik) season via the Kilometer Six (KM-6) Terminal in Banjarmasin is predicted to take place on D-3 Eid al-Fitr 1440 Hijri.
Head of KM-6 Terminal Technical Unit A Husaini here Thursday said that currently or D-6 there has not been a surge in passenger arrivals.
"The current atmosphere of the terminal has not been so many passengers, maybe to peak on D-3 or D-2 later," he said.
According to him, the peak of passengers flow is predicted to reach thousands of people for all purposes.
Especially, continued A Husaini, Provincial Inter-City transport (AKDP) for two destination, namely, Banjarmasin to the Hulu Sungai or Banua Enam and Banjarmasin to Tanah Bumbu and Kotabaru regions.
Meanwhile, Inter-City Inter-Provincial transport (AKAP) passengers have increased since D-6 and are expected to reach a peak on D-3.
"At present there is a slight increase in passenger for inter-provincial destinations," he said.
A Husaini said, the inter-provincial bus fleet, both for Balikpapan and Samarinda in East Kalimantan, and Palangkaraya, Sampit, Pangkalanbun in Central Kalimantan, are sufficient.
"Our fleet are sufficient, there are hundreds ready," he said.
For the security of the terminal during the Eid season, he said, a command posts is provided involving officers from the Transportation Agency, police and military.
"Also supported by supporting agencies, namely the health office, the Health Center for Communicable Diseases and community health centers (puskesmas)," said A Husaini.
