The Regional Government of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, stated as ready and fully supporting its area as the location for the relocation of Indonesia's capital city.

"The South Kalimantan Provincial Government is currently preparing land of about 300 thousand hectares," said Secretary of the District Rooswandi Salem in Batulicin on Monday

In preparing the 300 thousand hectare land, the provincial government involved several districts as land providers, namely Kotabaru and Tanah Bumbu.

If indeed the discourse of transferring the state capital is realized, and the central government is in Kotabaru then the impact of development will be extended to Tanah Bumbu.

However, if Tanah Bumbu is used as the center of government, it is possible for the impact of its development to go to Kotabaru or Tanah Laut Regency.

"Geographically and geopolitically the location of the three districts is very strategic even to get to Tanah Bumbu from Java, Sumatra, Papua, Sulawesi using sea and air routes closer because of its position in the middle of Indonesia's territory," Roswandi said.

Based on the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) study, the region that will be used as the capital city of the country must be geographically strategic, have extensive land, and have minimal disaster risk.

Tanah Bumbu, he said, fulfil the three capitals required by Bappenas, and now waiting for the implementation of the plan from the central government.

According to a study by Bappenas, the development area of ??the capital must be located in a city that has developed enough to minimize the need for new infrastructure development.

Another factor that is favorable for Tanah Bumbu is because the central government is looking for areas close to the open sea, such as the Java Sea and the Sulawesi Sea as Indonesia's identity, namely the maritime country.

"Basically, all provisions related to the discourse on the transfer of the state capital, Tanah Bumbu would have been declared feasible. And the Government of South Kalimantan Province, especially Tanah Bumbu Regency, is ready to help everything that will be needed," he said.
