Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor, familiar as Uncle Birin, in his Safari Ramadan 1440 H series arriving in North Hulu Sungai Regency, precisely in Pihaung Village, Haur Gading Sub-district, Sunday.


The arrival of the governor's entourage was welcomed by North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Regent Abdul Wahid and local officials. The safari and iftar activities were held at the Al Munirah Mosque.

The event was also attended by Chairman of Commission III of South Kalimantan DPRD H. Supian HK, officials of the province government, Deputy Regent of HSU H. Husairi Abdi, and element of the HSU regional leaders communication forums (Forkopimda).

"The governor is now in Pihaung Village, who won a national level champion in the category of the Hatinya PKK, which means the community here have a high level of participation and togetherness in supporting local government programs," Wahid said in his remark.

The regent thanked the Provincial Government for the loan of an amphibious excavator that currently works to clean the river flow and agricultural land from the wild giant plant of Putri Malu (Mimosa Pigra L) or people call it "Susupan Gunung" (a mountain infiltration).

This machine loan is a form of concern from the governor for the community, especially farmers, complaints in Danau Panggang and Babirik about the Susupan Gunung that caused farmers have difficulty opening land every year.

But Wahid got information that Susupan Gunung turned out to have economic value from the results of the research of the Bogor Institute of Agriculture, the plant could be used as a beauty treatment drug.

On that occasion Uncle Birin handed over donations to 43 places of worship which were immediately handed over by the Governor accompanied by the regent and deputy regent to each mosque administrators.
