PT Pelindo III Banjarmasin fixes the departure terminal of the Trisakti Port to provide maximum service to the people who will travel home (mudik) this year to various regions.

PT Pelindo III Regional Kalimantan CEO Boy Robyanto here on Thursday said currently the passenger departure terminal can accommodate up to a thousand more people.

"At present the average passenger is around 750 people per day, so the passenger terminal that we have prepared is still very adequate," he said.

Other facilities also addressed are bathrooms or toilets, health facilities, information centers, ambulances and others.

Moreover, he added, since Wednesday (5/22) the Port Authority Office (KSOP) has operated a command post to help sea trasportation passengers who have difficulty during the mudik season.

Boy hopes, even though port facilities are sufficient, passengers must maintain their health, in order the trip will be more smooth.

He appealed for passengers to arrive around four hours before the scheduled departure time of the ship, not to be too long to wait in the port waiting room.

"Many passengers arrived two days before the ship departed, so they had to sleep at the port. It could disrupt their health and comfort," he said.

At present, as many as 8 to 9 ships are ready to carry passengers, three of which are owned by PT Dharma Lautan with a large capacity
