South Kalimantan Regional Police confirmed the regional situation was conducive throughout Wednesday afternoon until late at night.

"Alhamdulillah, there is nothing stands out, everything is under control and community activities are proceeding as usual," said Head of South Kalimantan Regional Police Public Relations Sr Comr Mochamad Rifa'i here on Wednesday.

There was no mass action taking to the streets. That can be seen from the absence of a permit request for an incoming demonstration at Intelkam (security intelligence) Directorate of Intelkam Unit among resort police.

"Last Tuesday there was a mass action giving speeches at the Jalan Lambung Mangkurat intersection in Banjarmasin conveying support for the KPU, not a demonstration like in Jakarta," said Rifa'i.

The South Kalimantan Regional Police also enforces alert status of Siaga 1, as ordered by the National Police Headquarters for all levels of the Regional Police in Indonesia.

"Siaga 1 aims that all members of the Indonesian National Police increase awareness so they do not miss out. This includes enforcing maximum security for a number of places such as vital objects, public areas and the regional police to police units," Rifa'i explained.

He appealed to the public to continue to maintain a conducive atmosphere and not be provoked by an invitation to action that could cause disruption to community security.

"We believe that the people of South Kalimantan love peace and continue to maintain unity despite the different choices in politics. The election is over, let us knit back the relationship, especially in this blessed holy month of Ramadan," Rifa'i added.

Based on the Antara observation on Wednesday afternoon the community activities in the city of Banjarmasin were running normally. Like the Duta Mall shopping center crowded by visitors. Likewise at night, mosques and mushalla were still full of worshipers who perform tarawih prayers.

Residents seem to be unaffected by what is happening in the capital city of the country which is still arguing with the demonstration at the Bawaslu office and a number of points.
