Artificial Floating Market

South Kalimantan now not only has two but three floating market: Kuin Floating Market at Barito River, Lok Baintan in the Regent of Banjar, and the new one is on Martapura River right at Taman Siring or the front of the grand mosque of Sabilal Muhtadin.

It is not like two original floating market of Kuin and Lok Baintan. It is artificially made to attract people, especially tourist, that many are curious of th exoticm and beauty of South Kalimantan floating market.

Now to make it easy and not to take a long journey wandering the place, sometimes with narrow roads, the goverment make a new one.

But a question arose of wether the new one will turn down the two original floating market?

Abdul Hasan, a citizen, said on Wednesday, that those are the traders from the original floating market that was taken to the artificial one. They are 60 of them crowd the new floating market.

On the contrary, the number of tourist, especially those who visit the original floating market now declined./dhani/D
