Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Government of Tanah Bumbu District stated its readiness to welcome the transfer of the state capital planned by President Jokowi, and would fully support the matters needed later.
The District Secretary of Tanah Bumbu Rooswandi Salem in Batulicin on Wednesday said geographically and geopolitically the location of Tanah Bumbu is very strategic to be designated as a place to move the capital.
"It is also supported by land and contours that are very possible for government areas and offices," he added.
He argued, Tanah Bumbu was considered strategic as an option for moving the capital city of the country, because it has a port that can be used as an international standard such as a port on Java.
In addition, the government of South Kalimantan Province has about 560 hectares of land in Tanah Bumbu which is an integrated economic development area (Kapet)
In order to convince the central government, the local government through the relevant agencies continues to coordinate with other parties and seeks to explain the enormous potential in Tanah Bumbu to be used as a place to move the state capital.
Members of the Tanah Bumbu DPRD Commission III in charge of Infrastructure and Development M. Syarifuddin added that his party would continue to encourage the district government to coordinate with Bappenas (The National Development Planning Board) in following up on this matter.
"We will continue to coordinate with Bappenas to find conclusions on whether Tanah Bumbu or other areas will be made as a place to move the state capital," he explained.
