Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Indonesia's second largest cement producer PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa is now building a rest area in Serongga, Kelumpang Hilir Sub-district, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan.


The management and its employees together with local residents worked together planting trees around the rest area, they cleaned the garbage, and also helped arranging the market in Serongga.

Head of Kelumpang Hilir Subdistrict Johanuddin said on Monday that the activities carried out by Indocement must have had a very positive impact on the environment, especially with the rest area to assist in the arrangement of the area.

"Tegalrejo village is one of the villages with tremendous progress, because it is right on the axis road of South Kalimantan and East Kalimantan, with the initial work carried out by Indocement, of course making Tegalrejo progress," he said in a press release.

This rest area can later be utilized properly by the community and road crossers. "In addition to being able to enjoy the rest area, visitors can also enjoy the culinary delights in the area," Johanudin said

Director of Indocement Antonius Marcos said that the activities carried out with the theme "Tiga Roda Goes To Community" involved employees, trade unions, and surrounding communities, as part of CSR

"In addition, we are actively campaigning to reduce the use of plastic bags, because they are not easily recycled," he said.

"Activities like this will continue to be encouraged by Indocement with the community. If not us, who else is looking after our own environment," saidthe director in charge of human resource management and social responsibility.
