Barabai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Residents of the Pemangkih Village, North Labuan Amas (LAU), Central Hulu Sungai (HST) now have cable-stayed bridge, which uses high-strength cables as steel hangers that connect the girder with the tower.
The bridge, which was named the Al Muhajirin suspension bridge, connects Pemangkih Village with Pemangkih Seberang. The use of the bridge on Thursday (10/1) was inaugurated by Acting Regent H A Chairansyah with the caretaker of Ibnul Amin Islamic Boarding School KH Mukhtar.
The contractor A Arabiansyah accompanied by Iberamsyah said the steel bridge construction was carried out for 105 days with a budget of IDR 799 million.
The Chairperson of the Gotong-royong Al-Muhajirin Foundation Ahmad Barmawi representing the local community expressed their gratitude to the HST government for building the bridge to make it easier for residents, school children and students of Al-Muhajirin Islamic Boarding School to carry out their activities.
"This bridge is very beneficial for the community and we also express our gratitude for the construction of the MCK (public bathhouse) for Al-Muhajirin school students whose numbers now reach 1,500," he said.
Acting Regent H A Chairansyah also hopes the bridge will be useful for the community, especially the residents of Pemangkih Village and students in Al-Muhajirin Islamic Boarding School.
