Amuntai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Government of the North Hulu Sungai (HSU) inaugurated the rest area in Muara Tapus Village as an alternative stop-over for transportation passing through the City of Amuntai.


The rest area, which is named the Palace of Princess Junjung Buih, was inaugurated by the Deputy Chairwoman of the HSU TP-PKK Hj. Erlian Noor Fauziah accompanied by the Head of the Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (Disperindagkop and UKM) Akhmad Redhani Effendi.

"There are 20 selling booths in the rest area filled with SMEs with various handicrafts and culinary products as souvenirs for visitors who come," Redhani said in Amuntai, Thursday.

The 20 booths are assistance from the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (PDT).

Whereas the Council for Indonesian National Handicrafts (Dekranasda) show room displays various handicraft products of lampit, rattan, and water hyacinth.

"Also available are children's playgrounds, fishing spots, reading corners, prayer rooms and free wifi facilities," he said.

Present at the inauguration were Director of Local Economic Development of PDTT Ministry Bahartani Lamakampali and Deputy Chairwoman of Dekranasda South Kalimantan, and District Secretary HM Taufik.

The rest area, he continued, was managed by the Technical Implementation Unit of Market I Disperindagkop and UKM and is backed up by Dekranasda, BUMD, and related agencies.
