Barabai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Regent Central Hulu Sungai (HST) H A Chairansyah appealed to the public to fight dengue together, one of which to eliminate the habitat of mosquito carrying the disease to anticipate the spread of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) after 54 cases were discovered.
The regent requested the movement of one jumantik (mosquito larvae controller) for one house, eradication of mosquito nests, clean the environment around the workplace and residence and activate the clean Friday program.
He also appealed for the 3 M habit, which covers draining, closing, and hoarding, to be encouraged so that mosquitoes do not breed in puddles.
And he advised burning mosquito coils to protect from mosquito bites and not get used to hanging clothes in the bedroom.
Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the HST Health Office Salahuddin said 54 people had been attacked by dengue. The agency is ready to carry out prevention, one of which is through eradicating mosquito nests.
"The Health Agency has come to the spot of the affected dengue and together with residents anticipating the transmission of dengue as well as fumigation," he said.
The agency, he said, will continue to eradicate mosquito nests in areas deemed prone to DHF in anticipation of the development of mosquito larvae.
"We request that residents respond quickly to reports if there is family or other residents who have high fever for more than three days," he said.
