Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) -  Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin Operation has opened again after being closed for three hours due to runway asphalt peeled off, Saturday afternoon.


General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Wahyudi in Banjarbaru said the airport operation was opened around 21.00 pm after the runway condition was safe.

The runway was known to peel off at about 16.30 pm. The peeling part is 2.35 meters by 3 meters with a depth of 30 centimeters.

The process of handling is done from the runway closure, inspection, and repair of the runway, the transfer of the flight to anticipate the spike of passengers.

The number of passengers held at the airport as many as 980 people from 11 flight destinations to a number of cities, such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar and Balikpapan.

"All passengers affected by flight delays are getting their rights and they will be flown to the destination by the airline," he said.

Syamsudin Noor Airport Authority has shut down airport operations for three hours from 6 pm to 9 pm.
